Affiliated network of the Health Literacy Europe Alliance.
Health literacy implies a certain level of knowledge, personal skills and confidence required to take action to improve both personal and community health.
This applies to all citizens (including patients and professionals) as it enables communication, improves people’s access to health information and strengthens their ability to use it effectively. It favours equity, contributes to improving social and economic conditions in the community, and is key to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.
In the current context of people-centred healthcare models, focused on promoting healthy lifestyle habits and preventing disease, and with the e-health tools available (and those yet to come), health literacy has become an essential aspect.
We are a professional network with a shared interest in helping to improve the health system through one of its cornerstones, health literacy.
We work through collaborative projects, open to other initiatives and organizations with interests in the field of health literacy and its application in digital health solutions.
